Top 10 Reasons Paul Bellow Started a Grand RPG Website

Hey folks, Paul Bellow here! I’ve got a list for you that’s hotter than a dragon’s breath and more entertaining than a bard with a bottomless mug of ale. Without further ado, here are the top 10 reasons why I decided to start a Grand RPG website, presented in true David Letterman fashion!

10. My Dungeon Master Needed a Break

Ever tried running a campaign for a bunch of rowdy adventurers? It’s exhausting! So I figured, why not let the internet take over for a while? Plus, this way, I get to be the Dungeon Master for an entire online community without having to roll for initiative.

9. NPCs Were Getting Lonely

All those non-player characters (NPCs) were starting to feel neglected. They needed more interaction than just me pestering them about quests and lore. Now, they’ve got a whole website full of people to chat with. You’re welcome, NPCs!

8. I Wanted to Write Something Longer Than a Tweet

Twitter’s character limit was cramping my style. How can I possibly describe the epic battle against the Shadow Dragon in just 280 characters? This website gives me the space to write the epic sagas that my Twitter followers deserve.

7. My Cats Refused to Playtest Anymore

It turns out that cats make terrible playtesters. They kept batting my dice around and falling asleep on my character sheets. With a website, I can get feedback from actual humans who (hopefully) won’t fall asleep mid-quest.

6. Escape From My Laundry Pile

Laundry? Never heard of it. When there’s a world full of dragons and treasure to explore, who has time for mundane chores? Starting a website was the perfect excuse to dodge the laundry pile that threatens to engulf my living room.

5. Avoiding the Real World

Bills, taxes, and grocery shopping—who needs them? I’d rather spend my time crafting epic tales and exploring fantastical realms. This website is my ticket to staying in the GrandRPG world 24/7. Reality? What’s that?

4. Trying to Outdo My Last Dungeon Map

I once made a dungeon map so complex that even I got lost in it. Starting a GrandRPG website seemed like a simpler (and more productive) challenge. Plus, fewer chances of accidentally trapping myself in a maze of my own creation.

3. Training for the Zombie Apocalypse

When the zombies come, the skills I’ve honed in GrandRPGs will finally come in handy. Strategic planning, resource management, and combat tactics are all part of the package. The website is just my way of getting in some extra training before the undead rise.

2. My Doctor Said I Needed a Hobby

Apparently, obsessing over RPGs isn’t considered a “balanced lifestyle.” My doctor recommended finding a hobby. So, I combined my love for RPGs with my passion for writing and community building. Take that, health advice!

1. To Gather a Fellowship

What’s an adventure without companions? The best part of GrandRPGs is sharing the experience with others. This website is my way of gathering a fellowship of like-minded adventurers. Together, we can explore new worlds, defeat epic foes, and maybe even tackle that laundry pile—eventually.

And there you have it! The top 10 reasons why I started a Grand RPG website. Now, if you’ll excuse me, there’s a dragon that needs slaying and an NPC tavern that serves the best virtual ale. See you on the site, adventurers!

Stay epic, Paul Bellow
